Football Sports Science Video

I found this video in the Free Technology for Teachers blog. It showcases the accuracy of the Saints quarterback Drew Brees. The video compares his accuracy to the accuracy of Olympic archers. Byrne says in his blog that the information given on the archery aspect of the video is misleading, but I still like how the video demonstrates the use of math in the art of passing a football...something that would definitely grab the attention of my middle school students. This could be used when discussing parabolas, and a variety of other topics covered in the math classroom.
